Nautikos
Love the photos.....looks very similar to where I live in Texas, except the doe is fatter than I usuallly see!!  I would sooooooo love to put out my hand and gently stroke that horse.....I can just feel her velvety softness.....and the warmth of her from the sun, smell that horse scent out in the freshness of the air.  I'm so glad you're able to go on your rides and that you get so much pleasure out of two passions....physical activity and photography...and both feed your mind so much.  I've never liked to do "sweat" activities like biking, running, etc.....I loved to dance......and to walk......and then my knees went.....and I can't do anything!

Glad I found this link
I think it was a link on Shelly's post... There is something about seeing a deer in the wild that really sets my imagination.  Maybe it's because they re so elusive but they are my favorite critter to spot in the wild.  Not so keen on running headlong into a bear or cougar though

Keep on riding!
The rolling hills remind me of Missouri Ozarks where I lived for three years once.  I like your horse friends too!

Beautiful pictures.  I'm so glad that your injuries from the accident were no worse that they were (which were definitely bad enough) and that you fully recovered so that you could again ride far afield.  I like your horsey friends.

Magnificent pictures, Naut...
...but, if you want more time on your hands, why don't you just pare your exercise regimen down to eating and drinking?  lmao

Thanks for taking me along
Now, I just have to get off my butt and do some walking or riding of my own! Mal

Naut

Thank you so much for taking the pics during your ride. I understand what you mean about leaving the feel of the ride to take a picture. The countryside where you live is so green. That deer must have been just as fascinated by you as you were by her. Does that beautiful horse have a name? Oh and my.. that is the very truck that hit you?? wow.. I'm not sure I could be around it..

I like the way you share these journeys of yours Naut. As usual I am reminded that you are a sailor of the universe.. Columbus RD in the last picture  ~Peace, OTA

Nice pics naut. They remind me of Uxbridge , close to Toronto. Nice gentle hills will horses and daisies....I had fun reading the previous serie about Canada vs USA. Tschüs.

It's so pretty out there

I especially loved the photos of the horse--do you ride, or just visit with them occasionally?

! I love the part about the mare. She’s A good horse and you’re a good photojournalist. Take care, BCA!

What a pretty countryside in summer!

I have not been up that way in quite a few years, and then it was winter--took a train from Toronto to Vancouver.  It has been even longer since I've been east of Toronto.  Maybe it is time to begin planning an autumn excursion...

Your ride and routesound very fine and restorative--as long as you don't go mugging trucks!
