Even though I seem to have confused you a little by being somewhat unclear in my writing. "You're So Vain" was Carly Simon's only #1 hit. "The Right Thing to Do" topped at #17 on the Billboard charts during a nice 13-week run. I agree with you that my son was is to have a good mother, even though she made a radical change in focus and lifestyle when she walked out on our marriage after 23 of the happiest years of my life. She never stopped loving our only child, thank God.
