maybe it's time for an online campaign to save these landmarks?
I am amazed they are not already on the National Register of Historic Buildings.

Hey Zen
Twain is my alltime favorite writer, bar none. I first visited his Harford house on a college fieldtrip during a Mark Twain course, and I've been back several times since then. Anyone who said - "Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company" - is A1 in my book!

Mal, If I had the money.........I'd sure buy Twain's property (no kidding). What a shame.  Crying 1

Naut -
I fear that these properties would be turned into the centerpiece of housing developments. Or worse yet, condos.
