Agreed! hawking and spitting is not cool, it is disgusting.
In public, there is no excuse for it. Tissues, hankies, napkins... if you need'em, carry 'em!
In the days when TB was endemic and incurable, laws were made against public spitting. Well, those days are back, as our careless use of antibiotics has once again made TB life-threatening.
And besides, its just plain gross!
