It all works out at the end of the day.
I had to laugh at "his brain falls out" ... same way with my daughter when she come home on leave .. I had to wonder if she skipped the "ship shape" phase of training.  Crap from the front door to the closet in her room .. well, not so much IN her closet, lmao.

Not having had any children I just love to read family stories like yours and sometimes it makes me regret that I may have missed a good part of excitement. As for the humor section, whereever you put your entries my dear, they are always worth reading and a joy.

I really love reading about your sons.  It brings back lots of memories about when mine were the ages of yours.  Mine are all now between 45 and 50.  LOL.   My oldest took it rather personal about Tim Russert dying so suddenly and began worrying just a tad about himself, but not enough to give up his smoking.

Re:
At this point, Zen, I don't really care. Just happy to have him home and what happens happens. The ball is in his court now. It's gotten to be a running joke. Tomorrow morning, he's got to get up at 6:30 to get to the test on time, so I had mercy today!

I hate when summer comes..........and the kids sleep so late. It really is an adjustment for us. I remember my own Mother........she had NO MERCY.......she'd bang around in the kitchen and do whatever she could to wake us up........and piss us off. I am merciful until 10:00 am at the latest.........Your son sounds motivated........I'm sure he'll do well on the ACT's.

I didn't study at ALL for my SATs and I got into college.  Course I wasn't looking at Ivy League, but still.   And I did take the PSATs.

I happen to enjoy (yes I am weird) standardized tests.  So, while an undiagnosed learning disability didn't let me excel in the classroom, the SATs were no big thing.
