- Go to Republican Senator Chuck Hagel Is In Europe Pissing Off...Republicans
I think since we've spent so much time and energy over there, and our country is growing weaker (economically/morally) we should take over Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Americanize the hell out of all of it.

Yeah, Glennb. I've seen Hagel give speeches and on interviews over the
years and he seems to take his job seriously. He and many other politicians, both Democratic and Republican, have admitted that they were taken in by the salesmanship of the Bush administration, particularly the president, and then totally devastated by the fact that he was such a glib liar. I believe this is what happened to Colin Powell. Sen. Robert Byrd also mentions it in his book
Losing America. I've heard a lot of politicians talk about it, as well as reporters and editors, who were complicit in inciting and exciting the American people toward a war with Iraq.

Unless they volunteer, sam, it's ridiculous and cruel and unusual, setting

I'm a Chuck Hagel fan, jmh. If you've read my blogs, you know that I've
supported him as a vice presidential nominee for the Democrats and the Republicans...

Sam444,
Bush invented this new way to destroy the integrity of a once great office! How will we reclaim what was?

Saul_Relative,
I think Sen. Hagel is leaving politics because he could not take the lying! I heard him on Imus a few weeks back and he offered a look into his thinking leading up to the invasion of Iraq! He seems to have honestly believed the President of the United States of America. We have a serious problem knowing we can't!
