The point is being missed...
He claims to be above the typical "political" being......but each time one of these little tales is created it only demonstrates that he is no different from any other politician......his personna is a created image without any substance......

Saul Relative,
I am not sure the tale is something Sen. Obama has heard in family circles. I accept that it was a tale pulled together by some speech writer or handler! That he thought it was a good idea bothers me! His relative may have been there and fought in WWII! So what? It adds nothing to his story. I am simply tired of this game of "vote for me"!

Corbin: I do not care who makes these mistakes. I suggest they hold accountable their advisors  who put them in such  embarrassing positions. It is so easy nowadays, Google Days, to get the details right.

And he could have been repeating the family legend, Corbin, that has gotten
Buchenwald, a much less famous camp, confused with Auschwitz, which still makes the news on occasion.  Happens all the time.  Tell a joke to a friend.  See if they tell it the same.  I'm not making up excuses for him, I'm just saying that this crap is nonessential to the game.  Much like John McCain's confusion over the Sunnis and Shias in Iraq.  You know he really understands the difference and the situation -- he simply misspoke.  Unlike that moron in the Oval Office, who had to be tutored by one of his father's Middle East advisors that there were different sects within Islam.  These things are just sniping points for the campaigns to sit back and say, "Gotcha !"

Corbin Dallas,
They all do it! It is a sick a tired trick! Let some speech writer put together loose facts and 'hope' nobody notices! And we will explain what was meant later! Bush has done it for eight years with great success! The truth is a lost reality in politics! You think it matters, I am beginning to think that it dosen't! Sad!
