Oh wow-this is Excellent timing! Thank you! I've got to try to quit again--
done it before for 19 months-then when I was at an outside concert-I felt like a child who'd found a night of freedom and had JUST ONE-from my friend! Too soon I saw that Just one was not enough! I'm now trying to get in touch with the person who helped me quit before! As has already been said-NEVER STOP TRYING! Good Luck-God Bless.Chris.

What a Godsend for me to read today ladydew. I've only been smoking for a short time but, I want to quit. I'm going to finish the packs I have which will probably last a few more days and then I will start the Nicotrol Inhaler the doctor prescribed for me. We can be each others support in this time. From my

Hi, ladydew!! ~.~
I can really identify with this. I'm a smoker (for the second time) and I'm trying desperately to stop. Your words express my thoughts exactly. I pray that you (and I) can overcome this "addiction." Thank you for sharing. Peace, blessings and understanding.

Great poem, very honest. Please do not worry too much, I am sure you are going to be OK, I myself quit many times until ont day I said no more and I have not touched it since, going on six years now. You can do it, just make up your mind and every time you crave a puff ( and you will, because I still do believe it or not) take a deep breath. The urge to smoke, that feeling inside of you that needs the nicotine, lasts about 30 seconds, if you take a few long deep breaths while you think of the awful smell cigarettes leave on your cloth, mouth, hair...about all the horrible things they can do to you and yours... before you know it the urge will be gone and you then can go on with life with the wonderful feeling that you are the master of your destiny. If you are tempted and you absolutely need to smoke... DON'T! One cigarette will set you back to the beginning. Every day that passes you will be more and better able to resist, you will still want it. but it will be easier to tell yourself no. It is an addiction, remember that, but you are not powerless. You can do it. I wish you the best of luck.
