I can't imagine what you must have been feeling...
...but, I'm so glad you got your son back.
By the way, Jen, in all my blog-surfing yesterday, I forgot to stop by and give you flowers and wish you a Happy Mothers Day.
So, here's some flowers and hopes that your Mothers Day was blessed.

I lost my son for a few minutes one day in a department store. I was
frantic for minutes until he was found. Great poem, Mermaid, and a belated Happy Mother's Day...

I could relate to this poem as I "lost" my daughter in a shopping mall when she was about the same age. Every minute seemed like an hour and fear ran through every vien in my body. I couldn't even call out her name because she's deaf, so I frantically ran up and down every isle, asked anyone I saw to join my search , and phewwww I found her sitting quietly playing with something.

A parent's worst nightmare!
This happened to me when my youngest was two years old - to say I almost died of fright is an understatement......... they can be so slippery you have to have "14 pairs of eyes" as they say here! Take care and God bless

Some fantastic internal rhyme schemes in this poetry...
I think you have a lot of feeling behind your words and with a bit of editing down you could enhance your message even more! Well done. Great poem, and thank you for your warm welcome to Blogit. You can tell you're a caring mother! :o)

God bless your heart Jen; oh yes, this has happened to many mothers I would imagine and it's not a good feeling but, you described much here of what a mother goes through...with great passion and as with and by heroic measures, God bless the babes that are found. ~ So glad for the reunion. May Angels always surround you and yours ~ Much Love and rest well the remainder of this lovely day honoring a Mother and her LOVE ~
