I'll admit, the decision to get him shoes was a bit selfish on my part--but he didn't seem too worried about my motivations, as long as he had new footwear.

I was feeling better, although the shopping wore me out--it was a chore, but a necessary one.
There is never a bad time to wear red heels--except maybe camping, but that's a different story! And I did get a pair of sensible black shoes specifically for the funeral, which I'll likely end up wearing (only because they go better with the rest of the outfit...). I've been to more than my fair share of funerals, and I've come to the conclusion that, as long as it's tasteful, I can wear pretty much whatever I please--people are a lot less sticky about 'black mourning' these days!
As for wearing the shoes in the house, it's like this: when boys get a new toy, be it an electronic gadget, a vehicle or anything like that, they immediately want to play. Shoes are like the female equivalent of a new toy--I just couldn't resist strutting around in them, even though there was no one around to see them, and they hurt my feet! But when there aren't any new "toys", I'm all about the bare feet, especially in the house!

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well on Monday, but glad that you seem to have fully recovered, what with major shopping trips and all. But why would you be wearing red, high-heeled shoes to a funeral? (You see, I do pay attention to what you write, lol...) In fact, why would you be wearing them in the house? For comfort??? (I know you said you want to 'break them in'; that's like saying you want to break in leg irons!) The best thing is to do as I do - I never wear shoes in the house...
