Whiskey,
It's more fun when your team is going well, but the true test of any real fan is whether or not he or she hangs in there through the bad times when they aren't winning.  All I have to do is remember how bad my Tigers were five years ago and this season doesn't seem so bleak.  And even when they are losing I still love them -- even while I'm muttering, moaning, and screaming at them to play up to their potential.  It's a good, if all to brief, release from the cares of the real world whenever they play -- win, or lose.

Have no fear, sam
I may be critical of the Tigers at times, but I still think they have the potential to be one of the two best teams in baseball.  They finally unlimbered the bats for 16 hits and 11 runs tonight.  I think it's just a matter of time before they really start playing up to their potential.  And with 149 games to go they have plenty of time.

I agree that it's likely to be a crazy season.  Non of the favorites seem to be doing as well as expected right now.  That's why they play the games.  At least your Bosox and my Tigers both won tonight.  Your team, however, is still only half a game out while mine picked up half a game to sit five games behind KC.  I'd gladly trade spots with you right now.  But I still think it's going to end up as a battle between Boston and Detroit.  There is plenty of time left for both to show what they've really got before the playoffs.

I'm a Bosox fan, notapoet, and they've been a bit disappointing as well.
What amazes me is that they're only half a game out and one game of .500.  And just think, the Tigers are only 5 1/2 back of the Chisox, so...  This could be a crazy year...

This Tiger team is getting so close to having this season end before it gets started. They need a winning streak very soon.  Go Tigers!  sam

It's nice to
see you getting such an innocent buzz out of sport. My football team's become more of an emotional burden than a happy pastime... (Sometimes I forget it's all supposed to be fun!)
