Re: majesticvisions
agree totally bhaskaring, the war vets see it all and most often many do not appreciate what they have been through.

Re: "Right on little Sister", (my flashback to the 60's and 70's)
Thanks jefco, appreciate the note.  I guess I have to say I do have pretty cool parents.  Their hearts are ALWAYS in the right place.  I enjoy your positive vibe!  You sound like a fun person to be around!

Re:
Thanks soul builder - helping is a great reward in itself I believe too.  The spectators, in my mind (meaning the press, news, etc) should dedicate A LOT more face time to all the helpers in our society!!!

Re: Citizens care about veterans
halfelven-so sad, but true, the citizens always care more than the people who are causing the cause (so to speak)!!!

Re: oh you are so right majesticvisions,
you are absolutely right whirlwindaffair, they are angles in disguise, and NEVER get even near enough Thanks / credit for all that they do.  Sometimes I feel like I should say Thanks even more than I do!!!  Volunteers should be written about every single day in my mind!!!

oh you are so right majesticvisions,
The volunteers are angels in disguise..dont you think. No money is ever enough to reward them!

you have been blessed to have such wonderful parents. This story
has uplifted my heart.

Citizens care about veterans
It's the government that is all talk and damn little action. Doesn't matter which party, either.

Excellent statement here! Helping has rewards, noticed by the helpers and passed over by the spectators. It reconnects one back to the real self!

You, my dear are....

a very thoughtful person.  I agree 100% with what you are saying.

I worked for five years at the Missouri Veterans Home and I loved it

so much.  The reason I quit was because of Gas prices and I was forced

to work closer to home.  But you are right.  Our Veterans should be more

appreciated.  Especially those who risk their lives for our freedoms.

One of my co-workers has a son who has been to Iraq two times and

was just deployed again a couple of weeks ago.  It's madness.  I pray for

them every day and night.  I pray that they soon get to come home to

their families.  I also pray most of all for their families.  Great article.

This is very thoughtful. Congratulations to your parent for being so civic minded. Thank you on behalf of my son, a soldier.    sam

"Right on little Sister", (my flashback to the 60's and 70's)
nicely written -- your folks sound cool and I completely agree with your sediment.

What a heartfelt well written piece, and the message it encapsulates. War veterans have seen the pain, the agony, suffering, death, from close quarters, and they then devote their whole life to a cause for humanity's benefit. What transformation in the outlook and passion it brings about.

Although I have no affiliation to the U.S.
I am very aware of their politics and war involvement so I can understand very well where you are coming from; I can only say I totally agree with this post but am not qualified to say more; thank you and God bless you and yours
