It's hard to know what you know now while you are young and
in the middle of it....like any relationship, I guess. You have to step back from it to realize what truly went on ... and whom, if anyone, is to blame. I had a hard time with my mother too but then I had to look at how she was raised ... had to look into her baggage. It helped me to understand her more. Very good post!

Oh my goodness you had tears welling up. I am glad for the two of you to have met on common ground. We never really know the background of our parents that so much influences how they react to the world and their place in it. A very loving tribute of understanding and the need for your mom always. sam
