The rest of the Blog?
You mean,

"In other words; they worship the creation rather than the creator. And what ever feels good, do it, as long as no one gets hurt.

Praise God I'm not pagan.
Pastor B"

Which really says nothing.

So a drunk driver got herself messed up and you think that has to do with Halloween? Drunk Drivers do that all the time. It has nothing to do with Halloween. Poor judgment happens year round. There is just as much of a chance of getting hit by a drunk driver any other given day.

You obviously still have not checked out the Urban Legend page I sent you. Read and learn, then you will know the facts of Halloween related poisoning. It is no where near what you and the media, which you claim to be against you, are making it out to be. I have seen the facts about it.

As for Spiritual damage, give me a break. It is harmless fun. You do more damage at Church be teaching contradictory ideas.

wrong
I'm sure those were not the only two incidents last year. Those two girls are from Arizona; one right here in Tucson, the other in Phoenix.
And I've heard the reports already this morning about the drunk drivers and even the report about the woman hit on the train track about 1 mile from my house who lost a leg and an arm; she had been partying at a halloween bash; wow, some fun eh? But the physical dangers are not even my original concern, it's the spiritual damages that are most deadly.
And as for the pagan belief, you didn't read the rest of the blog, or just failed to add it to yours.

And where did you hear about those?
Did you even check out the web page I sent you?

For everyone else go here to learn the truth about Halloween candy
http://www.snopes.com/horrors/poison/hallowee.htm

Chances are that what Unicorn is saying she heard as early news before all the facts were in. Most likely either the drugs were from elsewhere or there really were no drugs involved it. I have yet to hear any news from around here, I live in Colorado right outside of Denver, of anything like that ever happening.
It is an urban legend people.
If only two kids had problems, then it was not some freak going after children. It would have either been targeted towards those girls, or something the girls got a hold of outside of the candy. Now if every child in the neighborhood was getting sick, then you have something. But that never happens.

my research
Maybe you should tell the two little girls who ended up in the hospital, one in a coma, last year halloween that those kinds of things don't happen any more. One had LSD put in her candy from a neighbor, the other had "Vitamin K"-the dog tranquilizer used on date rapes, in her candy.

Wow, are you ever wrong on everything you just said
First off there had never been any poisoning of candy or razor blades in apples. The incidents you are referring to happened years ago and was done by family members, not neighbors or strangers. You need to do a little research here before you make any claims.
Second, halloween is not that big of a drunk driver holiday. New Years is much bigger for that kind of problem.
Kidnappers? Any parent with a child under 12 should either be with their child or know that an adult is with their child. If a kidnapping happens, then the parents were idiots, although I have never heard that there is any increase in kidnapping on Halloween compared to the rest of the year. In fact I would bet in this day and age it would be harder for someone to try something like that on Halloween than a normal night.

You should watch Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine. Although I do not agree with some of his views, he did make a great point about the kind of thing you just went into. You have decided that halloween is violent because of the hyped up negative news you have been feed from the media, that same media you claim is trying to take down Christians. When you go out and do real research you will find violent crimes are not as high as you would think them to be.

So please, go out and do your research before you start telling me that I don't know what I am talking about when I know the facts.

Halloween
How can you say halloween is not violent? Don't you read the news or pay attention to what is going on around you in the world? Every year children end up at the hospital to have their stomaches pumped or to the emergency room due to something in the candy. More drunks drivers are out and about and causing danger to pedestrians; trick or treaters. Kids being kidnapped, etc etc. That is violence.
Not to mention that it is an evil holiday. God tells Christians (which I know you are not) to not have anything to do with these kind of practices. I'm obeying my Father.
I pray you and your children have a safe evening.

Unicorn, my dear, dear Unicorn
Yet again I can assure you that I did my research and everything I have said is fact.
Just because a story that relates to halloween has to do with the Devil, it does not mean Halloween has anything to do with the Devil. Jack-O-Lanterns are to scare off the sprits that are suppose to be traveling around on Halloween, nothing more.
And Catholics are an off branch of the Christian religion, following the same basic teaching, just in a more strict way. Christianity has many, many religions that off branch from it, all of which can be called Christianity in the same way the pitta sandwich I am eating right now is a sandwich, different type of bread, but still the same idea.

Why is that whenever I know what I am talking about, using facts that I have looked up and confrimed, I am being told I have not done the research? While at the same time these good old Christians, who do their whole research through the Bible and the Church know all the facts?

Good Blog . . . .

Enjoyed reading it; disregard Unicorn's comments; much of what is so old was not written down, so no one really knows for sure where our traditions came from.  It is the jist of the story, whatever it is, that is good and valuable and teaches us.  As did your blog.  Thanks for an enjoyable read.

BTW, check out my blog on Interesting sites to visit; I posted a link to a site that has some of the information about Halloween and Samhain, a most holy day, indeed.

Halloween
I suggest you read my blogs on Halloween. I also suggest you get your facts straight and not contradict yourself. For example you said the Irish created the tradition of jack o lanterns(which by the way is inaccurate) in an attempt of some guy to make a deal with the devil, yet in the following paragraph you say halloween has nothing to do with the devil. Catholics also are not Christian.
