I must say this is the most beautifully orchestrated poem of egress I have read. Although poignantly sad, a masterpiece nonetheless!  sam

Beautiful and Sad
Sort of like Andersen's Little Mermaid.

And get well.

Haunting is right.
Very lovely, and haunting, for sure. Good work, Mermaid!

What a beautiful heartfelt poem.  who ever  he is, what ever he did, he is an idiot not to have taken advantage of a love like yours.  Who sends away their heaven, who is he that in his arrogance  that  does not realize he has it all?  Don't worry  sweetie, the time will come when he will regret having let you go.  and you will find someone that appreciates you as you should be appreciated, like the princess of the sea that you are, my sweet purple mermaid.  You concentrate in getting better and don't worry about earthly things. Angels like you are above us mortals' problems. Take care of you, promise please.  I remain forever  your friend.
