Radio in the office
Fine:  I enjoyed your article on music in the workplace. To me, music is like cigarette smoke, we shouldn't be subjected to either one if we prefer not to be.  Just for the record, do you get more work done than your co-workers, with more accuracy?

TAPS---LOL!!! Right now I'm being bombarded with noise pollution.  MY KINGDOM FOR SILENCE!  My sweet wonderful fabulous husband Eddie-Ray is bringing earplugs home for me today....I love that man.

FineYoungSinger, I like music when I want to listen to music, not when someone else wants to listen to it.  LOL

yes it is----I haven't had a migraine for a long time, then two weeks ago one crept up on me and kept me home from work.

I like quiet, but then again I suffer from severe migraines. But the silence is truly golden!  sam

Re: tHANK you so much my dear FYS

You're so welcome, Mermaid---I know how those pesky bills can be.  Have you left comments in the Community section?  I'd continue to ask until they give you an answer that works for you.

Yes I love silence at work.  Like right now I'm on hold, and there's this crazy hold music driving me bonkers while I'm trying to concentrate.  It's crazy, because I've read books that recommend having a "soundtrack" playing in the background when you write fiction...I've tried this, and as long as it's in another room playing at a barely audable level it works for me, but with poetry I need complete silence.

FYS
I adhere to the adage silence is golden - can't get enough of it.  I especially dislike ambient noise/music and that's probably in part because my daughter is hearing impaired and white noise makes it extremely difficult for her to hear people talking.  So, over the years, we created an environment that was as noiseless as possible.  I guess I just got used to it and silence became my preference.
