Your opinion has merit. in other words, it's something to think about: Should a candidate's integrity or issues influence the presidential election?

It's about winning an election, Raven. More often as not, votes are won
and lost on impression and perspective, not on facts, figures, and platform analysis.  It becomes a glorified personality contest, unfortunately.  You could probably ask the first ten people you meet that are going to vote this fall and most of them will not be able to even give you a general idea of why they think their candidate of choice is the best candidate, and, even if they can, a good deal of the "facts" about why they'll vote for one and not the other is usually untrue, qualified, a piece of opponent misdirection, or a misunderstanding.  The candidates and their staffs are intelligent enough to play hit-and-run soundbytes with talking points of their platforms and compliment the intelligence of the American voter while they actually say nothing of substance, tune up the jingoism, and concentrate on character assassination of their opponents.  These days, when a political contest can come down to a 'makaka moment', politics is nearly all about posture and being seen as the most likeable, or at least the least unlikeable...

Bottom Line?
The bottom line is that we are screwed. Three liberals left in the race. 'Nuff said!

Ya know, it's like the old forgetfulness about the WMD we couldn't find in little Goergie's eye-RACK. We couldn't find them because they were stamped with US Army. Remember? They were part of the gift we gave a young Mr. Hussein in 1979 because he was against that other mean guy in the dress over there in eye-RAN. We quickly forget what we do all the time until it is convenient to slam someone with it. Keep it up to good work!
