What this bragging, swaggering, pompous, pom-pom shaking idiot
has done with the power of his office, sam, and at the behest and with the support of his elitist cronies in the seven years they've been in power has done more to undermine the constitution, the separation of powers, and the checks and balances system than any administration (any several administrations) in our history.  George W. Bush and his cronies have sidestepped, eliminated, stopped, blocked, or diluted the constitution and arrogated unto themselves sole discretionary powers over everything they wish.  Basically, with all the power assumed and centralized by the executive branch of government, we have a constitutional oligarchy or monarchy in essence.  Bush and his bunch have broken constitutional law several times, ignored constitutional law, and maintained they had and have a right to do it because of his elected position.  And he's gotten away with it.  Who's to stop the next like-minded crew of megalomaniacs that seat themselves at the conference table in the nation's top office?

I operate under the notion, Kayzzaman, that there are at least a few of
them who actually mean what they say and do and follow a generally good ethical standard.  We have a few Congressmen and Senators that I think fight the good fight all the time (and mostly to no avail).  Waxman of California, Sessions from Alabama, Kucinich, Ron Paul -- they're not perfect, but they do a pretty good job.  There are others but, for the most part, I think that many politicians do have a streak of megalomania running through them...

Absolutely, Glennb. We have a president that opportunistically advanced
his and his warhawk authoritarian agenda-screaming cronies at the expense of our nation's civil liberties, our international bon homie and general reputation, and lives of millions (Katrina and Rita and the War in Iraq).
