Well if you've ever had a kidney stone, i've heard women who are mothers and have had a kidnsey stone say that labor was the least of the two, so maybe you've already been through worse!

I know how do you feel. I was afraid of everything, both times. Try to think of days to come after a labor, holding your baby, think about various details of your life together. With me it was the only thing that worked, not experiances of other women, which made me just more confused

Yeah, they'll check for signs of dialation in the last four weeks. You can be dialted two centemeters for weeks before the onset of labor though. It's all up to baby when to come. I had two come one week earlly and two come four weeks earlly. The first two, then the last two.

People will totally understand if it does...lol...it'll be okay. Labor does hurt, yeah, but it's so worth it. Ask for something like stadol if you need it, works wonders. Don't be scared cause that makes everything worse, just focus on that baby and that once the labor is over you'll be holding him or her. You're so funny...making me miss being pregnant...it's all such a wonderful experience, looking back, even labor. I've had four of my own...

First babies
Some people say that first babies are always late (mine was 2 weeks late). The best determination I've found is an exam by the doctor around your due date. They can usually tell if things are 'getting ready'. Neither of my pregnancies resulted in my water breaking prior to labour, it happened while I was in the hospital.
Are you planning on having an epidural? I hope so, it's great!
