Re:
Yes, but why stop now?  You are on the right track, except that Jesus calls this "being Born Again," not "reincarnation!"

Re:
Yes, but that is more descriptive of "Baptism," not "Rebirth."

Re: Born Again
To understand what Jesus meant by this term, please read St John 3: 1-12, and then re-examine your assumptions. The 12th verse clearly shows that Jesus has been talking about "Heavenly" things, Not Earthly things!

I always presumed that baptism by water was the symbol of being born again. Reborn from the blindness of carnal delusions into a life of God-seeking. Rebirth, physically, implies reincarnation! Hmmm! I'll stop here!!!

I enjoy your work tremendously and would read more. The flesh body we inhabit is meant to die and a new spiritual body awaits. The point of rebirth for me is to recognize the life of Christ and strive ever more to be like Him.  sam

I believe
that being born again is the moment when we go through a spiritual awakening and begin dying to self.  This is the beginning of a lifelong progression that continues when this physical life ends. Basically, we agree.  We only disagree on the starting point.  Another thought provoking post.

Born Again...

I agree...and believe whole heartedly. I believe that rebirth ONLY takes place after our earthly bodies cease to beat our hearts and pump our blood for needed oxygen and gas exchange...All physical and human aspects cease to be. To become a true Christian, one MUST die..because it is ONLY in death that we are allowed the gift of everlasting life. Christ lived as a man. He was crucified, died and was buried. ON THE THIRD DAY HE ROSE AGAIN, IN THE FUFILLMENT OF THE SCRIPTURES , AND HIS KINGDOM WILL HAVE NO END.

Just as we will have life everlasting, if we truly believe...and accept the only truth of the everlasting man. Thank you for this post...it was really wonderful to read the truth. May I suggest a book to read if you have not read it already? It is called THE EVERLASTING MAN by G. K. Chesterton...(Ignatius Press). My father gave it to me for Christmas this year and I have read it 5 times. It is unbelievably beautiful and moving.. Chesterton propounds the thesis that "those who say that Christ stands side by side with similar myths, and his religion side by side with similar religions, are only repeating a very stale formula contradicted by a very striking fact."  This is Chesterton's masterpiece, and all who believe in TRUE Christianity and rebirth , MUST read this work of faith and brilliance.

I look forward to reading more from you.... Zoe
