Go to ADMIT GLOBAL WARMING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!Add a commentGo to SEEMS PURVEYOROFDARKNESS -- ER -- WRITEROFLIGHT -- IS DISAPPOINTING AGAIN

What is most annoying about this entire argument is that we can all
do things to the betterment of ourselves and our environment if we just would, regardless of whether or not you believe in global warming or not.  Why take the chance?  Conservation is a good thing.  Period.  But what pisses me off are people who refuse to see an absolute truth, like what clear-cutting and mountain-topping, deforestation and desertification actually does to an environment (even a limited or regional environment).  You can't argue, Xeno-x, with a person of questionable intelligence who can't see beyond thier ideology and won't even allow for the possibility.  You can't argue with myopia so severe it cannot allow the evidence presented...

Xeno-x,
I think we all agree that the Planet is warming! It is sad that the research into cause and effect is controlled by political and social status!

White-cossack,
Great comment! I trust your words and you make a very valid argument!

Re: Crap!

IS THAT ALL YOU CAN DO RSM?

People can see right through YOUR crap.

I agree the Earth will continue.  Just people will suffer that's all.  But of course you conservatives are pretty much like the corporate America you support -- to hell with the future -- we want ours now and what happens a generation from now -- or 10 years from now -- or five years from now -- or even a year from now -- that has to be sacrificed upon the altar of corporate profit.

Crap!
The earth has been here for how long? Does anyone actually think they can destroy it? Wake up people! This same ole Algore crap is past getting old! Then again, if it is the ole hippie ahteist thought behind this post then I can understand the crappy thought process. Go smoke another doobie there X! Whatever!

looks like i need to address some issues here.
give me a little time.

the only thing i can say is go back in this post and access the NOAA website I have links to regarding Climate Change.

That is a government website, with no axes to grind, and yet, from what I have seen, the data presented there do certainly support an unprecedented warming period.

Insightful. It's so easy to think of boxed simplistic solutions.
Like to say a sand-dune that's bull-dozed is the same as a building coming up in the same place to prevent soil erosion!

Global Warming... Sigh

Its a lie. In the 70's and 80's it was global cooling. By May 2005 we were supposed to be in a new global ice age. Ummm, didn't happen.

90's and now into the new century its Global Warming.

The Enviromental Movement is about money. It is just as biased and perhaps even more corrupt as the Big Industry it slams.

The Arctic ice melts - I've  been in the Arctic 28 times. I've seen Bering sea ice well below St Pauls Island and I've seen it clear all the way to Pt Barrow and to within 50 miles of the North Pole.

The AntArctic ice melts - been there six times, same thing.

Ice growth and recession is cyclic.

Glacial Ice Melts - look at the navigational maps of the 1880's pacific seacoast. Hundreds of glaciers along the coast of Canada and Alaska extended up to 5 miles into the north pacific ocean, they all melted - poof - gone, long before the first automobiles outnumbered horses on the planet's roadways. No islands in the Pacific Ocean went the way of Atlantis. Glacial Melts on Greenland, yeah and what about the other 1000 glaciers that are growing?

Don't talk to me about Katrina - for crying out loud New Orleans is below sea level what do you expect? Do you see the people living in Venice complaining?

Carbon trading/offsets are a joke just like Mr Gore and his Political movie.

Should we be good stewards of this planet of ours? Absolutely.

Should we control pollution and seek "green" methods for generating power? Absolutely.

Do I believe in enviromental "computer models"? Nope. With all our technology we can't predict weather anywhere on the planet - even with the help of satellites, further than 72 hrs in advance. Why should I trust a computer model that is only going to give me the answer I expect because of the data I input?

I've spent days - weeks talking with scientists doing ice core drilling trying to figure out everything from what killed the dinosaurs to what the ice showed of atmospheric pollution. One of their greatest complaints was that their research couldn't be published if it was incompatiable with the current political/enviromental attitude.

Look at the facts not the propaganda.

I think global warming exists...of course.........but, I think it's a natural process.......and man has not caused it.............however, that DOES NOT mean we cannot be taking better care of the earth. I'll be honest......I don't spend much time worrying about.

Zenmom that's 700 out of how many?
also, go back in my posts and get the links to the NOAA site -- you will see facts that support Global Warming

And of course if the warming is not caused by man, there is nothing we can do about it -- millions will suffer because of natural warming -- it cannot be reversed and all the pollution control in the world will not stop it.

but if it is man-made, then there is something we can do about it.

so why not try?  eh?

We  have a choice between a terrible future that is inevitable, or at least a chance of mitigating the effects.

But purveyorofdarkness and corbin here don't seem to want to answer that.  They, and most conservatives, like the profit-mongering corporations they support, are totally shortsighted -- can't see the big picture for the millions of dollars of profits they see.

It will be quickly dismissed as a lie....since it differs from his perspective.....
