Comments on Reflections on “it takes two to make a marriage work” before my meal break

Hi, mariaki
I appreciate the kind words.  But in all honesty I must remind you, as I reminded sam444, that there are at least two sides to every story.  Although I take pride in my actions, I have to admit that I probably was not the easiest man in the world to live with.  It's possible she was just reacting to living with a difficult man for 23 years.  After all, I found much to love in her to have been so happy with my marriage for so long.

Thank you both for the gift of a rose.  So beautiful, yet be careful less you get pricked, seems appropriate.  I'm pleased you two stopped by.

Thanks, spinner
It's strange you should mention country music.  When I was a teenager I attempted a little song writing.  The best I could come up with was a thing I called "Neanderthal Rock" (probably unconsciously inspired by the Hollywood Argyles recording of "Alley-Oop") and a strange thing about crocodiles that Elton John later borrowed from my mind.  Maybe I should have given country tunes a try.

Thank you, sam
I appreciate your support.  But I suppose I should remind everyone that there are at least two sides to every story -- and you're only getting mine.  The ex used to hate it when I would examine both sides of a situation.

Thank you, lestate7
I feel honored because by your comment because I've just read quite a bit of your poetry.  I think, my friend, that you are the real deal while I'm but a poseur who occasionally hits paydirt.

I suppose we all have our "selfish moments" and to some extent we are
entitled to them but not at the expense of our beloved offspring - you showed courage and foresight and should be proud of yourself; thanks for sharing and take care
