You're the first person to mention me and "audiophile" in the same sentence in, oh, more than a decade. Once upon a time I was exactly that, but I hardly qualify anymore. It's just as well. Way back in them olden days I suffered the common ailment among many audiophiles of being more wrapped up in the equipment and sound quality than in the music. Now I just listen to the music. I'm familiar with the Bose radio/CD player and have considered purchasing one on more than one occasion. I consider Bose one of the premiere manuafacturers of high quality audio equipment regardless of size of the equipment or the price. I still remember the first time I heard the original Bose 901s. They taught me about the advantages of multiple smaller speakers and that truly excellent sound could come in a relatively small package. Your comment also reminded me of an old movie titled "The Knack, and How to Get It," circa 1965. Talk about being effective on multiple levels! Your comment was truly exceptional. It has jogged enough memories to spur me on to several posts.

I know it wouldn't be as much fun for an audiophile such as yourself,
but Bose makes a pretty good radio/CD player that is very compact. :)

Hindsight says you're probably right, sam
But, hurt as I was, I was still very much in love with the woman and didn't want to deprive here of anything I could give unless I felt it might be detrimental to my son. I ended up losing everything anyway, so it would have done me no real good to keep it. Sadly, it didn't take her long to run it all into the ground.
