I just caught up on your blogs from Florence to Notre Dame. Although I have traveled through out Germany and lived in England for a couple years I never made it to Italy....and you said there were good looking men all around there (just my luck)....

Even if you were to go "upstairs" in an elevator with a wheelchair, there would not be any room on the roof for it. In some places, there was only barely room for a standing person. So, virtual site visits come to mind.

Interesting. It occurs to me though, that in many cases it is virtually impossible to make a historical site wheel-chair accessible without destroying it. How, for example, would you get someone in a wheelchair up the steeple in Notre Dame? Put in an elevator?
