It may be a loon. It's been a while since I saw one in the wild and
my memory may have faded, but they are beautifully marked. Or it could be a wood duck.

I agree--wood duck. They are a beautiful specimen and although its beak is different than your average Aflac duck, my guess is still a wood duck. Just fyi I believe it may be a male, as they are more colorful than the female. Just a thought
