It hurts when a friend is in need, and you can do nothing for them. Or can you? Sometimes just being there to lend in a ear is the best thing you can do.

never in vain
I have discovered (from both ends of the spectrum) that efforts to help are never in vain. I have tried to help many who do not seem to appreciate it, but I still know it has helped... with or without acknowledgment. And many have tried to help me as well. Sometimes it is hard to lean on the shoulder of another when you feel your problems may crush them. Keep trying. You are wonderful. -Dulcinea
