Whysper - sign up, I'll make you an administrator and you will be able to
access the code from the admin panel.
I have no problem giving you access to the website control panel as well (its on my development subdomain). I have surplus web resources and am in downsizing mode for all of the little projects I have taken on. (Just sold one of my main websites this morning) . . .

Actually I'm more interested in poking around in the code to see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the link

Whysper - it is a free download from an outfit caled ArticleMS
You can find out more about it
HERE. You will need web space to host it but if I were you, I would take the easy route to begin with. Become an administrator on one that is already installed. (Mine for instance) Join as a member and I'll set your permissions to adminstrator allowing you to do whatever you want in the admin control panel. Also keep in mind that there are a number of free PHP scripts such as this with different capabilities . . . my
web forum is an example. The list of good free stuff is extensive and this is just one of them.

sam444 - most blogging platforms have some form of archiving system and
blog specific search.
Blogit has neither, the search utility does not allow you to search within just one blog and there is no archiving system to speak of. For most people, a platform such as Wordpress is more than adequate and provides all of these things but the platform itself does not provide the ready made audience and unique community that Blogit does. An article directory could be the answer to these challenges.
