Re: Kidnapping is one of the federal death sentences (Lindbergh law)

majroj, my baby brother is a defense lawyer for federal cases and his clients' activities, when they are responsible, break his heart, but he does his job to defend them as best he can.

Many are ungrateful for his recommended and accepted plea bargains, when fighting won't do any good, because of arrest circumstances, unaware of just how very close they came to the death penalty.

He fights some cases, knowing his client's innocence or minor culpability because Mom and Dad and brothers and cousins make little cousins do terrible things, or die.

Some refuse to follow his advice, listening to idiot co-prisoners in the jails, and they go down hard, with life with no parole or actual death penalties. Ignorance rules nowadays.

He suffers so much when his clients get the worst possible outcome, as he wants all creatures on the planet to do well, live well, and get along in life, doing unto others as they would have others do unto them...but fools and hardened hearts won't learn.

It's the cold cold people that should die, I think, if I believed in the death penalty, which I don't.

WavyDavy, I don't think that simple coyotes should die, but those who
hold their little 'pollos' for ransom should. If I believed in the death penalty, which I don't. Thanks for reading and checking in with a comment.

Mexican kidnappings going up in the U.S.
Benzinha: These coyotes that smuggle illegal aliens into the country should receive the death penalty.

Kidnapping is one of the federal death sentences (Lindbergh law)

http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php?scid=29&did=192

Also, murder related to smuggling of aliens, etc.

These arise mostly from 9/11 and from anti-racketeering efforts which can end-run or swamp local efforts.

Prevention is invisible, reaction is highly visible. If a trend is rising fast enough or statistics are kept unfairly, prevention appears not to work. Ask any fire chief; always money for more engines, often have cutbacks for education and smoke alarms.

I agree.  Rape is also in the same heinous level as kidnapping- it destroys people's lives
