I guess it is both good and bad. You can run from it but not escape it.
Maybe it is a test. One we can't avoid, or fail.

GEP
As I learned from my 8 year old grand daughter two summers ago, 'Temptation' is can indeed be a beautiful thing, as sweet and pure as her sisters hands (my first post in Blogit.).

Temptation seems to take more people down than it could possible build up. Everything in moderation is my motto!  sam

Hmmmm
"Lead us not into temptation" seems to indicate a desire from God (since Jesus taught us this prayer) to protect and lead us not into areas of temptation.  However, sometimes it's good to be tempted to learn where our weaknesses lie, and to keep us humble, knowing our strength is not in ourselves, but in God.  Good question.

Dear Purple,

Re: Thinking

The Biblical injunction to "lead us not into temptation . . ." might have a much broarder meaning than one's first thought might indicate!!

Thanks for your thoughts!

In our prayer that Jesus thought us we pray to "keep us from temptation".. but as I was considering your question, I came to think it can also be seen as a good thing... if we overcome it. we become stronger. we learn to rely more and more on God`s strength. we can help others afterwards. but again - as with all things there is a level. and from Bible we can see that sometimes if you find yourself in a situation of temptation and you don`t know how to handle it, running away can be an an option too.. :)

Temptation whether bad or good...
gudam sir, it's a very good question...though i feel rather skeptic if i may have an appropriate answer...with all due respect; a temptation is a temptation whether good or bad...anything challenging is always tempting our curious senses...however, if we pull off a stunt to devoure on temptation unmindful of in-depth concern on the conflicting aftermath then i might agree to the 'bad' answer...but if it's anything good...should it be called 'temptation'?...i dont know sir, if im making a point or its alot of crap...pls excuse my courage to stress opinion....it's a quite intriguing question..thank you my dear...
