Corbin the climate has been "managed"
by corporate pollutoin.

the arguments from those decrying Global Warming are also managed.

by corporate America.

They don't want to have smaller profits.  But, as I said, they are very shorsides -- they dn't give a whit about anything but profits.  They have proven that time and time again.

A leopard doesn't change its spots and Corporate American has not changed its policies -- it is only regulation from the outside that imposes change.  This has been historically true.

odd
photographs lie then =-- showing glaciers having receded in a period of the last several decades

so you must think that the Natonal Weather Service has an agenda?

All the facts and figures I have presented come from their web site.

facts and figure don't lie

spin can skew the facts and figures to fit an agenda.

no one has disputed the information I have provided here from Government agencies.

Environmentalism has become the political lifeboat into which the survivors of the socialist shipwreck have crammed themselves......

The need to “manage the climate” became the new foundation on which to base regulatory structures, impositions, and taxes on the "haves" by the "have nots".......

Xeno, you select "facts" without critical thought...

I am not going to respond to each of your "facts," but virtually everything you have written in your comments has an agenda-driven spin.

Just a couple of points, however: In 1936 the Arctic was warmer than it is this year. On balance world-wide glaciation is actually increasing, NOT decreasing. While the Arctic is warmer his year (yes it really is, and ice really is melting – just not so much as in 1936), the Antarcti is significantly colder, with an increase in ice mass that completely offsets any Arctic loss.

Isn't it interesting how ALL the facts taken together can completely chang a perspective.

Just for grins, read my next post: Sweet vindication – It really is climate cooling!

(BTW – I have no agenda in these matters. I simply want people to know what is really happening. Anthropogenic climate warmig is pure political hype. It has no factual scientific basis. None...nada...zippo...zilch...)

HERE'S THE ISSUE CORBIN

Because of corporate shortsightedness and selfishness, many health and safety issues are ignored.  Corporate profit has trumped human welfare for over a century.

We only have health and safety rules because of organized efforts to do away with hazardous working conditions in the workplace.

Without oversight, factories and other workplaces would be much hazardous for the workers than they are now.

Corporations have constantly tried to get around regulation that would provide for the health and safety of their workers, or for the health of the environment.  It took environmental and workplace laws to change corporate habit even a little bit.

To avoid providing for American Workers, corporations relocated factories beyond our borders, or hired illegal aliens who couldn't complain for fear of being deported.

Sweatshops were outlawed in the U.S., working conditions were improved, pay and benefits were given out; however, corporations found other places where they didn't have to abide by such rules, such as Southeast Asia and China.

We pay less but we get less; but we pay more in the loss of wages, benefits and jobs over here.

It is the same with environmental issues.  We controlled pollution in our urban settings,  then created acid rain, then discovered that CO2 levels were increasing.

Corporate profit is the most important thing for corporations.  Health, safety, environment -- if corporations could, they would ignore all these completely.

The issue is not whether someone is profiting from Global Warming; that is an afterthought to the issue.  They are not harming anyone through such profit.

The issue is that corporations put profits ahead of anything -- workers' welfare, air quality anywhere, extinction of species, climate change that can harm every one of us.

The issue is that they don't care.  Profit now is what they care about.  And they have controlled the U.S. debate on the subject to such an extent that it took until just recently for the U.S. to recognize a responsibility for the issue of climate change and agree to international agreements to some extent.

And for momentum to move toward recognizing and attempting to do something about climate change.

But it might be too late.

But that's all right -- you probably don't care either do you?  Your children and grandchildren's welfare are none of your concern.

Why not?
If you can state:

"corporate profit seems to trump rational concern for safety and survival every time."

The profits made by the proponents should be open to comment, and examination, too.......

Wait, I forgot...things only count when you state them....everyone else is wrong...

AL AINT THE ISSUE

the issue is what has been measured as happening.

I have referred Corbin and others to the NOAA web page, section on climate change to see exactly what is happening and what is happening is what those supporting Global Warming see as happening.

facts and figures don't lie.

however, I read some articles by our referenced author here and see that he comes out on the Right as far as environmentalism is concerned, so we should probably read a broader spectrum of views before we come to a conclusion that the facts and figures so far might be wrong as the industry supporters assert.

Re: ODD
Xeno......So ol' Al is not making any money off this fear campaign?????  Let me guess he's donating all of his earnings to research on how to cool things down........

ODD

LETS' SEE

The Arctic Sea will soon be navigable in warmer months because of no ice for the first time in millenia.

Ice forming on Hudson's Bay is some weeks less now, threatening survival of polar bears.

Glaciers are disappearing world-wide, Greenland's ice cap is melting, Antarctic ice is melting.  (any build up of snow is a result of increased precipitation due to this melting).

wildfires all across the western states of greater frequency and intensity than ever seen.

drought across the western and southwestern U.S. and in many other places.

decreased precipitation in the Rockies, resulting in little or no snow caps on the mountains and greatly decreased snow melt resulting in lower water levels on the Colorado River resulting in less water to be shared among Colorado, Arizona, California and other states.

these all were predicted as a result of global warming

you can check out the NOAA website for more information on Climate Change and discover that indeed there is warming unprecedented.

You sir have your head in the sand, and so do too many other people.

corporate profit seems to trump rational concern for safety and survival every time.
