- Go to Reflections of a Writer
Re: I've been reading around trying to get caught up and ran across this post;
Sounds like we have a lot in common! And I'm so glad you could relate, and found some inspiration in my words. I think that's the ultimate compliment for a writer - to be read, and to connect with the readers is, after all, the goal!
Good luck with the poem - I'm sure it will be amazing!

Re: Sira
Azur,
Reading is the first step to writing!
The link is a very old one, but it is there. I grew up surrounded by her works, and still love them all. I even had a chance to visit Green Gables when we were visiting Prince Edward Island - it was a great experience, and seeing it really brought the books to life.

I've been reading around trying to get caught up and ran across this post;
good advice you've given here and I found my heart leaping and butterflies fluttering as I read you and grasped a strange familiarity at several paragraphs. First off, I am a published author because I wrote, I sought, I paid dearly. I had something important to say and I said it. I do feel accomplished in that I followed through and fulfilled not only a dream but felt it my calling to do so. Second off; my father's family is all writers and artists. Many have self published, many poets, many biographies, autobiographies, painters, musicians...very creative, expressive strange bunch, lol....my point - pondering your words while reading and went back to take a peak at your about me page and noted you are in Calgary. My father's family migrated into Utah from Calgary (many are still there in Alberta), my grandmother was born in Calgary as were her eight sisters and brother. I just found it a coincidence is all. Oh, and beyond the familiarity of your writing, the butterflies and leaping heart came from the inspiration you tossed at me with your writing. I've GOT to get serious with my writing. I love it, it is me, I am it...it comes from me involuntarily...like many involuntary functions..lol, I just thought about what I wrote, involuntary as in breathing, a heart beating. Hey, I think I'll go write a poem about writing poems. Good stuff here Sira!

Sira
I have some artistic forebears but no writers. I have some cousins who write too. But I am happy to say my family are readers.
So you have a link to L.M. Montgomery. I have almost a full set of Anne books, some from my grandmother, so they are lovely old books, and a few others about other characters.

Sira
My father is a published author, too many books to mention, my mother is a local artist, thus, perhaps why I write? But mostly I believe that I write because I do not have a choice...mostly my words are my voice...if this makes sense? I write as meditation and medication. Blogging I have discovered keeps me fresh, like daily pages in a journal, and it keeps me connected to others AND I remain fairly anonymous...which is a bit freeing. I too am looking forward to more time on this sight.
