My youngest daughter got mono
And it has shut her down from everything. She is, they say, over the worst of it but they said that a few weeks ago. My little dancing girl has had to drop out of the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, probably will not be able to be in the Nutcracker this year and has been out of school for a month. It has been devastating to her and for me seeing her miss out on so much that she enjoys and is good at.
My eldest daughter went for testing up at school because she had some of the symptoms and was home around the time Bibbeth caught hers. Her test came back that she once had it, but was not active now. Since she doesn't remember having anything full-blown, it is making me think that perhaps I should test for it, too. I don't remember having it either, even in college where it was rampant. There I thought I was safe because we were led to believe that you caught it from others with whom you were at all intimate, even just kissing, and I was, despite my wishes and inclination, not intimate with anybody in the slightest way throughout my undergraduate years.

CIUSA
But now you both have a chance to separate. Great news, CIUSA. perhaps after treatment you will begin to like yourself again. Good luck.

Cringe
It's excellent that what ails you has been properly diagnosed. I remember a few people at the university who had 'mono' as we simply called it, and yes, it was debilitating for them, but they overcame it, and so will you!
But as Pat has so cogently observed, you have a poet's mind and vitality, which will not be suppressed, so allow it to come to the fore, and let us enjoy as well what you have to offer...

Pat, I'm sorry, I meant to include in the text body that I was diagnosed
with Epstein Barr.

Oh, sweetheart... your mind alone would wear out an ordinary person's
energy, quick as it goes, how it touches all these "unrelated" things and makes poets' connections... And I've been lucky to avoid any tests like the acronym you mentioned, so I don't have a clue what it is that's been eating you... I hope the recovery / dormant phase continues forever and they find a way to insulate you from further trouble with it. What vindication to realize you're not just whining about things everyone else takes in stride. Celebrate!!!
