Well, Offy, why not write about them?

Offy

I Agree with what you are saying here.  It is also ok to disagree, I feel, so long as it is done respectively.  Like you said, there is a whole lot of goings on in this world.  Take Care.

Bless

Regards

I'm guilty.................
I say what I want to................   If I bother to click on someone's post, I do read though.   Sometimes I just don't want to comment on the subject matter.

Re: FineYoungSinger, I read all ...

To expand on this, I received several emails on a post I wrote later from Blogit members asking if I was talking about them, then deriding me for calling them narcissistic.  Had they read beyond the headline or first paragraph, they would have seen that the post was about kiddie pageants.

My reply was simple:  Go back and reread the post, and if you fit into the category of a 4-8 year old pageant participant, then I most certainly was talking about you.

Re: FineYoungSinger, I read all your blog that day I commented, so I hope

A:  My comment here is not referring to one single incident, but several.  Therefore, I qualify my answer by saying I'm referring to not ONLY you.

B: Your particular comment, since you asked me directly about yourself and your own comment, indicated quite the contrary.  The post I wrote was not about you, nor about the subject matter on which you commented at length.  Therefore, I concluded that you did not read the post completely.  An honest misunderstanding I think for each of us.

you weren't talking about me?

I think it's only normal for this to happen, not saying it is correct or not, but due to the circumstances... it is expected to happen.

After all that has been going on, all the dissapointment, all the heated emotions, etc... if you write a post concerning the subject (even if you don't mean to "offend" anyone) what do you expect?

Ofcourse some people are gonna view it as "provoking"... and your going to get provoking comments. That's just how it goes, on blogit as in life.

P.S. - Only now did I see your post about what happened to Maggie. Hope she is doing well now.

Hi Offy, great post!

Blogit members (both prolific and obscure) have either emailed me or accused in my comments of talking about them.  Clearly, they did not read the entire article, or they would have seen that I was writing in general.  It's a terrible discourtesy to another writer to not offer the courtesy of reading beyond a headline or the first paragraph.

Also, congrats on offering a great solution to this problem, and for lighting the candle.

I hope I wasn't one of those as I skipped from blog to blog last night as we all beat up that poor dead horse.  If one writes about the main topic then many follow, in their own way.  Its like a Hollywood tabloid, when something starts out as a mere blog turns into a Blogit war.

Offy hon

You make some excellent points, and I agree! I sometimes wonder if some of those commenting have actually read the post! Of course, it does happen that one gets side-tracked into different issues when there is a back-and-forth between people, and sometimes the whole thing ends in silliness, which can be fun too...

I generally try to stick to the issue, though being fallible, I may not always succeed...

I contend that you have pointed out the whole problem on here. It is not about how to disagree and do it nicely it is about the subject representing that writer's point of view. If they don't like that point of view then it is about not liking you, yours and all those to come. You are putting out some really good post lady. That photo is awesome too.
