You're really into that sonnet rhythm... so many,
it must be old hat to think like that, to make a rhyme just any old time....  Plus, which you reveal a bit of Blackmare's theory that poets are in many ways warriors.

Oh, my friend, we a bush in the fire, the bush is on fire. Cali has always been a state on the edge of destruction. From houses cut into mountains, standing on foundations as unstable as the brush igniting it! From one 'Bush' to the next, I take the Brit any day! SAM

Antonio.......
Those fires were very big! I saw satellite pictures but this map is even more serious! Of course, the other bad news!

Now that was a glass of ice water in the face.
Antonionioni, this sonnet had some serious teeth.  LOVED IT!

Sorry for being a bit negative guys.
I could have been humorous about these things I spose. That would be an interesting challenge - but it might have been offensive too! All it was was I watched the TV news at 6 and there were lots of stories that grabbed my attention, so as this is partly a diary of what's going on in the world, I thought it was time for a collection of the news stories. Those were the main stories of today! Anyway, stay cheerful everyone. Life is a bowl of cherries. Behind every cloud etc etc!

Gee, Tony, thanks, that was an optimistic poem!
... looks like California is burning badly!

Antonion

I'm not quibble about syllables when the meaning's the thing, (er, the play, that is).  Here's a ballad from the 60s that sums it up for me:

Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
when I read about his widowed bride

Ohhhhh, bye, bye, Miss American Pie
drove the Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry
Them good ol' boys was drinking whiskey and rye
singing this'll be the day that I die

Hi Antonionionio!
Good work here!

Mixed reaction!!!!!
Yes, I see what you mean about the syllables, but you could say the same about some other lines too. Words like 'here' and 'fire' I tend to treat as one syllable. It's a matter of personal choice I spose. Thanks!

Cool
This is really a cool one. I think your L1 is not an IP: I would call the last two sylls as : /BOUT it/.

I actually enjoy reading this. Good enjabments and meters. You end your lines at good places too
