Krisles...
It must have been the era, my grandad also wore a hat like that and had a candy dish on the dining room table, with lemon drops and candy corn alternately. No matter how careful one was, replacing that glass lid always gave the candy snitcher away! He was also the oldest person I knew that wore the old black canvas Converse high top tennis shoes. Your memories are wonderful, beautifully written. Thank you for helping me remember my gand father.
