There is a staggering amount written on the 'Dumbing Down of America' (all, of which, incidentally, applies to Canada as well), but it does not seem to have made any difference whatsoever! Well, I'd better not get started...

Son #1 loves to throw people for a loop.  Right now he is saving up Sacajawea golden dollar coins he gets out of a coin machine at his work place.  He puts in $10 every day.  When he gets $1000 saved up (he has $800 now) he wants to take a bag of them, in person, and make an extra car payment.  He is curious as to how they will react.

Good post! I do believe technology has made the general majority lazy and

for participating (Big Brother), there is a price to pay. Religious or non, the prophets of old as well as current, advise to make logical and healthy life decisions, stating not to owe because the indebted become the property of the indebtor (your comment regarding cash). This need not have been predicted, as logic prevails, but prophets predicted the inability to use cash. Now the world sees this prophecy coming to pass (as all the prophecies have thus far), and are astound, but still hold fast to disbelief.

The non self-sufficient make slaves to (Big Brother), I prefer to call the world system. Christ taught to be in the world is not to be of the world. There are extremists who build and live in compounds and prepare to defend against the new world order (Big Brother) and the coming of the antichrist (or whatever notions feed their paranoia beliefs). This Christ did not teach. They are known as the unfaithful.

I choose to live simply & healthy (soon to owe no one), and have faith my needs will be met. A healthy mind based on truth, 'greater is he in me, then he who is in the world.' This belief simply means to live by simple faith. It is a calming, peaceful & joyous belief, maybe just 'my own little world' but hey, I have that choice. It is my life and how I choose to live.

Would my livelyhood be gone in a depression? I work for a plumber, a contractor, a nursery, an entertainment business and a wolf conservatory. The wolves would never starve (the environmentalists hold that key). Would indoor plumbing still be a necessity? It is statistically & cyclically proven, entertainment soars during depression. I have considered this in my industry and have diversified accordingly.

Would my livelihood be gone without a computer? I have been presented with this in my current location (at the end of the airport), in winter we are without power frequently. I print all my work to hardcopy and have good ol' Wilson Jones supplies to manually produce payrolls, etc. I did bookkeeping without a computer until 1986. I am one of the fortunate, 'elders' in this industry, lol...Although, I had to brush up on my long hand calculations. I go blank for several moments without the calculator in front of me, fortunately they are AC/DC.......lol, I would advice to stock up on batteries!

Today is a late day and I had my morning coffee with you. Thanks for the chat! Have a wonderful day.
