Thanks, nice to see you, as always! It would be fascinating to examine the causes of that development...

So true....my father and mother married at 21 and 19, respectively....my father was a WWII vet, and launched immediately into a career.....they had to borrow money from his folks for my delivery bills....and paid it back asap, never having to borrow money again....they were "grown up" (responsible for themselves and theirs) in very real ways.  I'm still waiting to get there! Seriously, it is so obvious to those of us who have the perspectives of multiple generations.....it is a very different world....and not necessarily a better one.

I gotta hand it to you, you're perceptive as usual. I meant for them to sort of go together, and there's going to be yet another one...

Yeah, I know. You would really like an answer to that question, wouldn't you? And even more, experience it! Well, tough...

It would seem that this post and the one following it kind of go together.  The same ones that fail to launch seem to eat more fast food/ junk food and tend to be more obese than those who fly away and stay away.

don't worry Naut - I hate it when I'm invited to a party on a yacht!!!  (not that I ever receive such invitations!) ... I mean why go to a party on a yacht when you have like 3 yachts that you never ever use! ... I mean a party on a yacht is sooooooo boring ... you get all excited and then you're on the boat and it's like yeah NOW WHAT?!!!

They may be taking longer to make that transition to adulthood
But they're hitting adolescence earlier every year. If this continues I predict infanticide will be legalized.

We call them Mambos. Most of the time they are sons. Daughters can't wait to move out.

So love comes and goes, but parenthood is forever...
I knew a woman who moved while her son was in boot camp and left no forwarding address. But he did a little checking around, used a bit of deductive reasoning, and caught up with her in another state.
