I think they think they will get you in such a bad frame of mind that you will give up and they win every time. I keep calling and it does not always work but I try 0 and often get a voice before i push any of their numbers.

I have a lot of patience with people, but I have absolutely none for those machines and recordings that direct you from one button to another and you still do not find a live person to talk to.   Gr-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r

We are allowing it. We should complain to high heavens if we have to punch numbers and take out time.

Honey I am with you all the way. Idiots, I would not have called had I not wanted to speak with a person. It is such a bummer, I believe we should complain every time we talk with someone after a slew of numbers are punched.

I believe we could get that back. Being pro active makes a difference. They are totally careless if they have us in a bad spot and we are having to be reactive, but proactive is different to them. I have tried it over the years.

Exactly. We should not do business with those who treat us badly. My ground line telephone kept taking me for granted. I had DSL service with them and telephone they were rude, slow and inattentive to my needs. I turned off both the telephone and switched to cable. They sent setter after letter to get me back. I told them in time to keep me what the problem was.

Re: OTA
You have a very good point. We are a cold and automated society for the most part, that even extends to the church. I raised cane when our church turned these things on during lunch. If you can't call the church for help who can you call?

It is not just that they don't care. They now have CEOs that have never known anything else.

I seems it would make more sense in the bottom line. All the hi tech gadgetry they have to install and the coldness would appear it brings everybody to the lowest common denominator

Of course
My mom complains about this problem too. We're slowly dehumanizing.

I agree with you and you are absolutely correct .
I have had a terrible expecience this month by losing my house internet connection and trying to get back to the service provide by the Tatabroadband and despite hectic efforts could not get them and ultimately I refused to renew my connection and that is what I could do at best to teach them a lesson . It is better to be without a headache than to keep a headache .

Justi, Everything is so automated and cold.. its sad.. very sad.

P.S~ I wonder.. if God feels the same way when he tries to talk with us..are we on automatic so much that we don't hear his voice? ~Peace, OTA

You expressed my own frustrations here. Big business is on its way saving money by use of technology. It is not like they actually care!

I would love to bring those days back, but no matter how hard I try, I know won't succeed. So I try to go with the flow, and not get upset any more, just as I am not upset sitting in traffic - I have simply decided to be relaxed about things I know I can't change!

Now, if I do spot a chance...

I offered to charge them and sue to get the pay because it took me four hours in bits and pieces to get some light stuff worked out. I had to give my time which at that time I considered valuable I was working and I didn't have that sort of time. I kept asking for one higher and higher until I went as far up the ladder as they allowed and I told them I had been logging all these calls and the time. I didn't have any more trouble from them. I expected them to laugh, they didn't!

The worst culprit of lousy customer service in my neck of the woods is my phone company. They’re supposed to be in the “communication business” yet the drag you through a seemingly endless robotic menu and when you ultimately reach a live, breathing person, they claim they have to transfer your call. Arghhh… I tried to cancel service recently and it took me 8 attempts and now 5 phone bills later all claiming to be the final bill.  And they're all for $4.00????
