Well stated, EmptySouls. A person who takes another's life should have to
pay restitution to the family of the deceased for an x amount of years. When an individual has to give up part of his income and livelihood because of an irresponible and deadly action, then you might see a little less violent crime. I doubt it. People kill each other for a myriad reasons. Deterrence rests with the individual. But a couple years in prison deters what? Nada...
