Oh my, Nautikos
I'm not sure it still on here, I've deleted so much when the whim whacks me.  But, I'll look.

Nautikos

I missed the Perseid's meteor shower this year, but I have seen some really good shows of that in other summers.  In fact, I once wrote a blog post about something rather humorous that happened on one of those nights.

 for you for Rodin.

Re: sorry i missed this one, but it reminded me of the time i took
Callista, I'm sure the neighbors were envious, because they knew you had been out there all night, watching the meteors, and they hadn't...

Re: Uhhhh??

Corbin, you should be grateful that you were outside, rather than sitting in that blue chair of yours, with your legs dangling over the right side, as you always do...

sorry i missed this one, but it reminded me of the time i took
my lounger out in the front yard to watch a meteor shower, it was cool so i went inside and got a blanket and the next thing i know , i wake up on the lounger as my neighbors are driving by to go to work.

Thanks for your comments, folks...
For me it was a bit of a washout, unfortunately. It had been raining most of the afternoon, and although the sky cleared up, we had fog. Oh well, there'll be the Leonids in November, although they probably won't be that plentiful this year...

I had every intention of going out and looking...
but it was still 95 degrees and humid after 9: p.m. -- and then thunder clouds rolled in, so I opted for my pillow and watched reruns of reruns and lesser luminaries...

I always miss this kind of thing...usually it's because I forget about it.
I did see Haley's comet though.  That was cool!

I once saw the night sky in Key West -- no big lights around..
It reminded me of how the sky looked 50 years ago before city lights and so much gunk in the air -- but the stars were different -- southern. It was my favorite thing about the island, and there were lots of enjoyable surprises there. :)

Good Morning Naut
I watched some of this from the shore of Lake Erie last night...The best I have ever observed though was out at sea...
