I couldn't have put it better, and thanks for your thoughts. My emotional state has needed a lot of management, and I do feel manipulated by rationalistic discussions which take no account of my feelings at all. In the past it has always been the case that I get myself over whatever upheaval there has been. Now, there has been more upheaval and it takes longer. Right now, I am torn between present and future. Hmmm. Thanks for helping me find some clarity:)

mneme, you've got a point
The way I've found to balance the head and the heart is to protect your heart's desire. Your head, or someone else's well-meaning rationalizations (or outright criticisms), will dull the heart's desire unless you tend the fire. It takes a lot of management of your own emotional state... I'll say that.
