Hope you had a good time! Lots of crashes...wish I were there!

And just so we get it straight, and confuse everyone in the process,
the 24-hr race at Daytona I mentioned earlier has nothing to do with the Daytona 500 or the Indy 500...

You'e aboutan hour and fifteen minutes from where I sit right now.
And I am Southern to the bone, but just can't get into NASCAR. Race day can be fun, though.

Re: Well, have fun.--MM--two different types of cars involved in the
two races. In the past, at least, a few drivers in the 500 have actually flown to Daytona and raced in that 500 in the same day. I'm pretty sure no winner of the Indy 500 ever flew to DAytona and won that same day. What I remember most about the Indy 500 as a young reporter just out of college, covering the pre-race buildup and qualifying, was the barbecued duck legs they served the working press. Very tasty.

Mademoiselle....
It's what I do for a living...I own a company that takes people on tours..... I have 45 people down here.....
On the Indy thingy.....sometimes a driver drives at indy....then jets down here and drives in the Coca-Cola.....amazing...

Hi Corbin, I don' tunderstand NASCAR...or WWW...I think they are some sort
of Southern bi-cultural phenomena...maybe they're first generation alien races here participating in some sort of tactical distractionary pre-invasion committee doing research!? Looking forward to some photos!

Well, have fun.
Why even go, though, if you don't like it?
Oh, and isn't the Indy 500 today, also? I don't get that. Why would they schedule two major races on the same day? Or are those, like, two entirely different sorts of motorsports (both of which just happen to involve a bunch of cars racing around an oval track)?
Whenever I need to "get away'',
I just get away in my mind.
I go to my imaginary spot,
where the beach is perfect,
and the water is perfect,
and the weather is perfect.
The only bad thing there are the flies.
They're terrible!

I have been to the 24-Hr race at Daytona, where you find an interesting crowd as well, particularly in the infield, though I would think at a NASCAR race you would see even more of that! But, like you, I found nothing but good humour and friendliness! And I do hope we get to see more of the crazier views...
