Definitely good ideas; there are so many ways we could fund this trip to Mars, yet everyone in charge keeps harping on the negatives.

Other funding solution
I remember Lance Bass of N'Sync was going to pay 20 million dollars to go to the moon. So how about we set it up so people can buy into the whole trip, whether it be for a Mars rock, a mountain or canyon named after them, or a ride? Lance was paying for all his own training as well, how often does that happen?
