Tyson is very well mannered. He is an honor roll student. Most people like him on site. He has never had to deal with this type of situation. He is no angel but he is a well rounded kid for the most part. I don't want him to be a push over, nerd. I want him to be a cool, confident nerd!

I don't mean nerd in a bad way either. I spend a lot of time at his school and it seems as if education is on the back burner especially in urban minority settings.

I have a friend at work that was talking about the same thing the other day and she told her son to start sticken up for himself. He has always been told dont start a fight but he never sticks up for himself. A boy has to do what a boy has to do

I don't remember my sons having much trouble with bullies. My hubby taught them early to never start a fight but to never slink away from one either. They found that standing their ground usually sent the bullies running for cover.
