To answer your question, the Japanese shouldn't have attacked Pearl Harbor, it was an act of war and...big surprise it created a war.

History would not agree with you on that...Sometimes you have to have war in order to have peace...Look at WW2...When the Japs invaded Pearl Harbor do you think they should have just turned a blind eye and said they come in peace? Hardly! Look to history...
It was a nice thought though..
