 She is only six weeks old-- too young for such a surgery and her body and muscles need to grow more so surgery won't create more problems.

With a stump foot  --abcesses occur.  They rub the stump raw. She is not doing that now-- she is too young and too little to be putting much pressure on it yet.  Amputation takes that out of the equation.

Caring for creatures
Sympathy, which can be purchased and written off, can never the equal the true "grace" of empathy for God's "lesser" creatures.  I believe you are graced in such a manner. joab
