Comments on Ohio Woman Steamed Over Anti-God Starbucks Cup?

Writerly Question: did Starbucks pay the writer of that statement?
And if so, where do we send our 25 words or less?  I see on the photo it's a "this I believe" comment. Perhaps the offended lady should send Starbucks her own statement of faith.

Thank you for posting this. I am more surprised at the comments than the happening.

Neither message 'offends' me, nor do they disturb me in in other ways. The only messages that disturb me are those of hate...

Umm ... When I believed in God, it was because I actually had one.  Then, my cousin accidentally left one of my dad's two cats in the car and it died of heat exposure.  Coincidentally, my Father in Heaven died during that same time period and my dad was also murdered by young thieves.

Apparently, there was a cat involved in the whole God scenario, and I've had to come to grips with exactly why my aunt's name was Kitty.  God is our provider, the invisible caretaker of our souls, and to believe in God is to learn to be children of God, and to take the role of a god species when our real God dies.

If that lady didn't want to wake up that morning, perhaps she was just feeling very grumpy and sleepyhead.

Starbucks probably figured that Ben and Jerry's far-left views would make them seem centrist - fortunately, I've never been into the expensive coffee scene - never had a latte or an expresso, or a "crappacino" - I'm content with by single serving of Folger's - just plain old, regular (black) coffee, every morning!

Hi Corbin...Just another example of how divided our country is.

People piss and moan about everything! IMO..just drink the coffee and count your blessings...next week the price of your Starbucks could go up! LOL

I don't know how they could not know that would offend certain people.

Actually, all they really had to do was simply remove that second sentence from the cup. Seeing as then the moral could have been more open to personal interpretation and universally palatable. Sort of a "God helps those, who help themselves" kinda of thing.

If God dwells inside us, like some people say,
I sure hope he likes enchiladas,
because that's what he's getting.

I would have asked for a different cup because it would have offended me too. In reality the message she received on her cup has no real "food for thought" value, it is a slap in the face to a believer!

Corbin...
Good arguement here...though I gotta say, Starbucks printing that particular quote certainly accomplished the supposed intent of putting messages on cups to get people to engage in conversation.  We're all talking about it.
