In a sense, A + B.

Yes.

Victimized?

As does Macy's, Whacky. Though it was a bit of an emergency, actually,

and Rite Aid was the only place that I could find that was open at that hour.

You know Avon has a very good lip balm.
A rose from me!

I knew that, I should have directed that comment more towards Robdon - sorry.

The tragic irony of it all, Smartdog, is that I actually had some on me, too.

Although, to be perfectly honest, even had he asked, I doubt I would have given him any, so ...

Yes, I suppose that's probably the most likely scenario, Scriber.

Madam
I've got quarters.  He should've just asked me :).

Be on the look-out,

Re: post twice--i don't know what happened. Guess I hit the post button
twice.

Well, now there's a cheery thought, Scriber.

Btw, your comment wasn't that good that you had to post it twice.

Re:terror--it could be I guess; all up to the individual, and imagination.
There is potential danger in most situations;  the guy could have over powered the policeman, grabbed his gun and shot up the place, killing everyone there, then ran out into the street and killed several people walking by before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.

I've heard of that place, Rcky, but never actually seen one.

Besides, I needed a drugstore that was open at, like, 11 PM.

Hey Madame...there are nuts everywhere...oh and I'm talking about
the creepy guy! LOL And hey, don't you have a Walgreens?

Well, I thought it was terrifying, anyways, Scriber.

It was perhaps a tad lengthy, though. So to even things up, my next post is only going to be one sentence.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 2, 2007 at 10:02 AM | link to this | reply

mm--not so terrifying it would seem. But not a bad story.

The strangest thing, RaeS, is that he really didn't look all that dirty.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 2, 2007 at 9:35 AM | link to this | reply

It was really scary, Strat.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 2, 2007 at 9:34 AM | link to this | reply

That's very advisable, Kabu.

Thanks for stopping by, richinstore.

The reference was actually in relation to a question I had asked in Robdon's post, Enigmatic.

ROFL; mind blowing, MM!
tho' I know dirty laundry can cause one to lose it..or is that an effect..?

Most harrowing, for sure.

Took a break from my V.P. movie - still enjoying my port wine - but insomnia is still a bitch! Anyway, "chemists?" - where are we, England, I think not! And I wouldn't trust a "chemist" who did sell French truffles, while pretending to be working!

posted by Enigmatic68 on May 2, 2007 at 2:37 AM | link to this | reply

Well, they do sell "Milk Duds", Robdon, so that's close enough.

Besides, La Maison is not open 24 hours a day. Plus it doesn't sell lip balm, either.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 2, 2007 at 2:32 AM | link to this | reply

I don't believe I came across a "Rite-Aid" store whilst sojourning through your country. It sounds a little dodgy even with the presence of chemists and I suspect they would not sell French truffles.

posted by robdon67 on May 2, 2007 at 2:20 AM | link to this | reply

So you're saying Rite Aid is not a quality store, Robdon?

I would strongly disagree! I mean, they even employ "chemists" to (pretend to)work in the back and answer medical questions.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 2, 2007 at 2:09 AM | link to this | reply

I would imagine a better quality store would offer a more sophisticated standard of insanity: someone effusively shouting Shakespeare whilest pocketing French truffles.

It's 3:45 a.m. here, so I'm gonna get back to my port wine, and my Vincent Price movie - The House of the Seven Gables. Pleasant dreams!

posted by Enigmatic68 on May 2, 2007 at 1:49 AM | link to this | reply

That's a very sweet thing for you to say, Enigmatic.
Jeez! Look at the time! I can't believe I'm still up at 4:45 AM!

I honestly wish you only happy and joyful experiences for the rest of your life!

posted by Enigmatic68 on May 2, 2007 at 1:31 AM | link to this | reply

But I figure I'll go to CVS for a while, anyways, Enigmatic ...
Until something worse occurs there ... and then I can just go back to Rite Aid.

Oops! I should have left the word "point" out of the quoties - now it's 2:15 where I live!

posted by Enigmatic68 on May 2, 2007 at 12:15 AM | link to this | reply

Mademoiselle
I wasn't going to mention your "...regardless of the store point," because I didn't want to depress you. And please, don't waste your time "feeling bad" about a long post, because I thoroughly enjoyed it - in that "I know that unnerving feeling" kind of way!

posted by Enigmatic68 on May 2, 2007 at 12:13 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you, Enigmatic ... though, sadly, I tend to encounter lunatics quite often regardless of the store.

Meanwhile, I felt bad posting something so long, but it's actually as concise as humanly possible.

Well, the combination of seeing weird stuff like this in the news  (quite frequently), and having witnessed strange things in my own life before - plus the fact that I, myself am weird - but not scary weird, just harmless, eccentric weird - leads me to say 1) I'm not shocked, and 2) I think your CVS idea is a wise one!
