there are a lot of strands in there and it's true we don't always laugh as much as we did when we were children. It is still possible; just got to look beyond the walls.

Excellent, OTA.
Maybe our dilemma as adults is that we know too much. Children don't know how hard life can be sometimes when you have so much responsibility (including looking after children). Also, a lot of their laughter comes from cruelty, which we do not allow ourselves  - quite rightly of course. I don't mean to disagree with you though - your poem has indeed inspired in me many thoughts. Well done!
