That's so sad. I lost my friend due to a car accident too..
even though I was twenty, it was a hard time for me. I will keep the family in my prayers.

How devistating. I can't even begin to imagine the loss that this family must feel.
I agree. Since she is not there, I wouldn't want to tell her. Why upset her for no good reason.

I stated that wrong. I am not going to tell her right now. I will be up with her in a couple of weeks at which time I will tell her what happened. Right now he life has put pulled out from under her and I want to be there with her when I do tell her, so I can offer her comfort. I don't want to tell her over the phone.

bel, I'm sorry to hear such sad news, but I want to offer my opinion..
I lost a lot of friends in middle and high school, and I would have been so livid and mistrustful of my Mom if she had never told me. She will never have her chance to mourn or say good-bye if you don't say anything. Just my thoughts having had too many funerals to go to before I was 21. Best of luck on such a tough call, and I'm glad you and Carl are in communication. :)
